To quote Skotty,

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Just For Skotty Made-To-Break Resolution Moment(tm)
Week Four

(Oh you thought I forgot? No, my friend, I was just lulling you into a false sense of security with a couple of Catherine-free days. Psyche!)

Now is the ideal time to introduce you to the woman behind Catherine Willows - actress Marg Helgenberger. Despite the fact that Balthazar thinks her name sounds like 'Mark Hamburger' and giggles every time I say it, Marg is actually a respected actress with a long and illustrious career behind (and ahead) of her. In 2005 she won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Television Star, the same year the cast of CSI won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. She has also been twice nominated for lead actress accolades for CSI at both the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. Prior to bringing the sexy into forensics as Catherine on CSI, she won an Emmy in 1990 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of K.C. Koloski on China Beach. You may also remember her as a victim of the cancer being investigated by Julia Roberts' Erin Brockovich, as one of the scientists on the trail of the deadly alien-human hybrid in Species, as Will Smith's put-upon captain in Bad Boys, as George Clooney's girlfriend in four episodes of ER, and as Dennis Quaid's wife in In Good Company.

Marg has been married to fellow actor and SAG president Alan Rosenberg since 1989. The pair have a son, Hugh, named for Marg's deceased father. Which means Marg definitely has a better track record with men than her televised alter-ego Catherine.

Marg is, according to CSI co-star Gary Dourdan (who plays Warrick Brown), the "sexiest redhead on TV" and his nickname for her is 'Margalicious'. I whole-heartedly second both these sentiments and provide the following photos of Marg at the very recent SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards as evidence:

Marg Helgenberger on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. The back of her dress is amazing! She looks like a million damn bucks. I heart this dress and I covet it.

With fellow CSI William Petersen who plays Gil Grissom. Awwww...

By popular demand, more photos of Anjelica Huston in the modeling days of her youth. Before she won an Academy Award for playing Maerose in Prizzi's Honor and turned fully to acting. (And by popular demand I mean for Selkie, who asked, and Homie, who vaguely expressed something akin to interest. The rest of you - ahemSKOTTY - can just be thankful it's not Catherine for once.)

Quite possibly my favorite photo of Anjelica Huston, this is a portrait with then-beau Jack Nicholson. I don't know the precise year it was taken but she'd be in her twenties.

Anjelica Huston and Jack Nicholson at the 48th Annual Academy Awards ceremony.

Photographed for British Vogue in 1974. Anjelica has said that in Europe at the time they were "interested in unusual girls".

Attending the opening of Mr. Chow restaurant in 1974.

This is a Bob Richardson portrait of Anjelica (with model Lipp Jens as the Nazi lover) for Italian Vogue in 1972.

Another Bob Richardson portrait of Anjelica again for Italian Vogue but a year earlier in 1971.

Anjelica as a child out on the town with her famous father, director John Huston.

Anjelica Huston blows me away. Whatever incarnation she takes - ingenue, model, seasoned professional, Addams - I don't much care. If she's in it, I'll watch it. I adore her.
