Things that get me through looooooooooooong days during production week include endless quotes from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Our lighting designer (who also used to be my flatmate) and I are the only two people we know here who have been to Savannah, GA and fallen in love with it. When faced with long days/nights/afternoons/runs/whatever we generally revert to speaking in lazy Georgia drawls and quote Midnight like it's going out of style to keep ourselves laughing. Here's one of our favorites:

"I'm Chablis," she said.
"Chablis? That's pretty," I said. "What's your full name?"
"The Lady Chablis," she said. She turned sideways in the seat, pulling her knees up and leaning back against the door as if she were sinking into a luxurious sofa. "It's a stage name," she said. "I'm a showgirl."
She was beautiful, seductively beautiful in a streetwise way. ..."My mama got the name Chablis off a wine bottle."...
"A cool white wine for a cool black girl," I said.
"Y-e-e-e-s, child!"
"What was your name before that?" I asked.
"Frank," she said.
