I admit it. I paid hard cold cash to watch Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction last night. I remain staunchly unapologetic for this choice.

Other things I remain staunchly unapologetic for include...

1. Buying the special edition ice-block-bound re-release of Basic Instinct with ice-pick pen.
2. Buying (and watching) Showgirls.
3. Watching Last Dance, The Muse, Diabolique, Borderline, Picture Claire, Gloria, Palmetto, and Sliver.

What those three things have in common...

My three favorite Sharon Stone lines (in order of nudity) are...

1. "What are you gonna do? Charge me with smoking?"

2. Teacher: "Second hand smoke kills, you know."
Sharon: "Not reliably."

3. Gunslinger: "You're pretty!"
Sharon (deadpan): "You're not."

Don't scoff! She's brilliant and under-rated. Just like Gina.

I am staunchly unapologetic. I think the world needs to pay homage by offering her more good (and clothed) roles. No matter what you watch Sharon in, you don't have to apologize for it. She's always mesmerizing, even in run-of-the-mill thrillers like Cold Creek Manor. And with a good script, like The Quick and the Dead or Casino, she's genius.
